Chief Master Sgt. Vincent Fasano is the command chief of the 109th Airlift Wing, Stratton Air National Guard Base, Scotia, New York. He serves as the wing's senior enlisted leader and is the principal advisor to the wing commander on matters impacting health, morale, welfare, readiness, professional development and utilization of 1,160 personnel.
Chief Fasano enlisted in the Army in April of 1995, serving as an infantryman with the 3rd Infantry Regiment at Fort Myer, Virginia. He conducted revered military ceremonies and would later become a Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. In 2003, Chief Fasano separated from the Army and in 2010 he joined the Air National Guard’s 105th Airlift Wing in New York as a C-17 loadmaster. He participated in numerous aeromedical evacuations, humanitarian relief missions, and combat airlift missions in direct support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE, and RESOLUTE SUPPORT. In 2018, he showcased his versatility and leadership by stepping into the role of acting First Sergeant for the 105th Medical Group. In 2020, he was the Director of Inspections and Superintendent for the Inspector General Office. Throughout his career, he has championed professional development, leading seminars and annual staff rides for Airmen. In 2023, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 137th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron during their deployment to Qatar. In 2024, he was selected as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the A4 Directorate at the National Guard Bureau, advising the Director on a $5 billion portfolio encompassing installation development and sustainment, aircraft maintenance, security forces, and environmental management across the Air National Guard enterprise.
Chief Fasano retired from the City of White Plains Police Department in 2019 where he had served in a variety of positions to include Community Policing, Mounted Patrol, School Resource Officer, and Traffic unit. Prior to this assignment, he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection at the Air National Guard Readiness Center, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.
