Operation Deep Freeze
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Phil Rhodes, marshals an LC-130 Hercules from the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing to a parking space here. Through Operation Deep Freeze, the wing ensures scientists near the South Pole have the people and supplies they need to do research and study the planets harshest environment.
