Wing joins local agencies for medical exercise
Members of the New York Air National Guard's 139th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, the Tennessee Air National Guard's 118th Medical Group, and the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center carry "patients", made up from the New York Civil Air Patrol, from the staging area tent to an LC-130 Hercules aircraft during an exercise at Stratton Air National Guard Base, Scotia, New York. The National Disaster Medical System Exercise, held July 27, 2015 through Aug. 2, 2015, demonstrated interagency partnership among the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Veterans Affairs and the instrumental role of aeromedical evacuation in the national emergency response and national defense frameworks.
